WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?
Students enrolled in a Postgraduate Diploma, Bachelor’s degree, or Honours degree in the following fields:
Actuarial, Data Analytics, Data Sciences, Statistics Agriculture Civil, Geomatics Engineering Insurance Technical Accounting, Economics, Finance, Mathematics Reinsurance, Risk Management, Underwriting
The scholarship will finance expenses up to a set limit for the items below:
- Registration/Tuition fees
- Accommodation (including deposit, administrative fees, etc.)
- Educational materials (such as books, e-Manuals, etc.)
- Laptops
- Monthly stipend
- Travel/Transportation stipend

Selection Criteria:
Successful applicants are chosen based on their academic potential and their motivation for pursuing a career with Santam.
To be considered, applicants need to have obtained a minimum average of 65% in their undergraduate degree and the most recent exams (mid-year/June).
Agricultural applicants must meet additional specific criteria outlined below.

- Certified South African ID
- Full academic record, including the most recent results (June 2024 examination results or progress report)
- Official Matric/NSC results for Grade 12 graduates, or final Grade 11 results and June 2024 report card for current Grade 12 students
- Proof of address for bursary applications sponsored by a renewable energy plant or trust (applicable only to applicants residing within a 50 km radius of a solar or wind farm)
- Proof of income, which is a critical factor in the selection process. Upload proof of income for both parents, if applicable.
- This may include:
- Salary or wage slips of the parent(s) or guardian(s)
- Affidavit from the parent(s) or guardian(s) confirming unemployment or self-employment, with an indication of annual income if self-employed
- Most recent audited financial statement or the three most recent bank statements for parent(s) or guardian(s) who own a business
- SASSA letter detailing grants received in the household if applicable
- Death certificate(s) in cases where parent(s) are deceased
- Court letter specifying child support amounts for divorced parents, or an affidavit from the parent receiving child support if separated
- A clear head and shoulders photograph.
